🎓 For Schools – Empowering Students Through Real-World Experience

Give Your Students the Opportunity to Lead..

Marmalade JAMS (Junior Arts & Management Skills) is a ground-breaking youth initiative where students don’t just attend events — they

run them.

Tailored for 13–17-year-olds, this extracurricular programme empowers young people to take the reins of a real music event, gaining invaluable life and business skills along the way.

From booking venues and managing budgets to designing marketing campaigns and liaising with performers, every aspect of the event is student-led — supported by experienced professionals and mentors.

It’s more than music. It’s management. It’s mindset. It’s Marmalade JAMS.

Our personalied approach has made a real difference in the lives some of the young people we've worked with in the past...

Here’s what they have to say about their journey with us:

I remember seeing under 18 event flyers distributed all over my school and local record shops. After picking one up, I looked closer noticing that some of my favourite DJ’s and MC’s were performing at these events. I had been listening to these artists for a few years and aspired to achieve the same success as they had. After reading through the line up, I saw the promoter’s number (Aaron) at the bottom of the flyer.   At the time, I was a young, enthusiastic, budding MC with a show on the local pirate radio station. I saw this as an opportunity I needed to grab with both hands, an opportunity to possibly perform alongside these artists. I got home and rang the number leaving a message with my name and details.   A few days later Aaron returned my phone call and gave me an address to send my demo cassette tape to. Aaron liked my demo and invited me to become one of So Essential’s resident MC’s and I was only 15.   Aaron ‘So Essential’ gave me the platform to showcase my talent at under 18 events locally and across London, meeting and working for some of the biggest artists and promoters in the industry at the time such as Terry Turbo who ran an event called ‘One Nation’ which was the single largest Drum n Bass Rave in the country.   This gave me the confidence and experience I needed to pursue a career in the music industry as an MC   The rest is history…   10 years on, I have performed at some of the biggest Drum and Bass events/festivals in UK, Europe and further afield such as One Nation, Innovation, Random Concept, Slammin Vinyl, Global Gathering, Gatecrasher, Hysteria, Drum and Bass Arena and many more. I have also been showcased and interviewed on BBC Radio 1xtra, Radio 1, nominated for numerous Drum and Bass awards and am currently working on my forthcoming album. As an International MC I’m currently performing to crowds of 10,000 people, with this being my career.   As another string to my bow I’m also a youth worker with kids that have been taken off of timetable working in a school in High Wycombe.   I owe Aaron a massive thank you, for his support, guidance and faith. He’s been an inspiration and a friend.   I fully endorse his project and his ability to make a difference and have faith in Marmalade Jams and the impact it will have on today’s youth..

I believe that the programme that Marmalade Jams is providing is essential for young people today, and it’s just as important now as it was to me whilst I was at school.   Aaron used to run an under 18’s event called Dance2k, and at the time I wanted to be involved in as much as I could. I initially sold tickets for the parties, but soon progressed to being a DJ too. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so of course I wanted to be involved.   It wasn’t necessarily that I realised it at the time, but I learnt a lot whilst I was involved. It was at a time where I could have easily been mixed up in the wrong crowd and gone off of the rails.   At that time working with Aaron and the boys I had a purpose, and had a something to do to keep me off of the streets, and I enjoyed it. I learnt life skills, money management, and how to be successful.   Since then I’ve taken the skills I’ve learnt and have been responsible for single handily turning a business around. At 22 I became the manager of a Bar in Windsor called Mantra. As the manager I was responsible for increasing the turnover by 1000%.   I would like to personally thank Aaron for his help, and faith would say that without his help I may have chosen a different path for my life. It is a shame that my brother hasn’t had the opportunity to focus his energy and given the same chance as I was.   Marmalade Jams is a positive programme that every teenager should be given a chance to do.*
